Ways you can contribute:

• Donate a completed quilt
• Donate a quilt top (it will be quilted by a volunteer)
• Donate ‘orphaned” quilt blocks
• Donate fabric (100% cotton)
• Donate money to pay for fabric, batting (stuffing for quilts) and shipping (up to $30 per quilt)

This month’s theme is “SHOW YOUR COLORS”
The block is the Friendship Star in any combination of patriotic colors.  The fabric does not need to be a patriotic design.  Solids and prints are welcome such as red fabric with white polka dots or small print flowers.  It is all up to you.  You choose.  The Friendship Star should bear a 2”red border.  There is a .pdf below with instructions.  There is no limit as to how many quilt blocks you can make and submit.  In order to be included in a Quilt of Valor each and every single quilt block MUST have a slip of paper with the name, city and state plainly written.  This information will go on the label on the back of the quilt along with the name of the “piecer” who sews them all together and the “quilter”.  The label will read “quilt blocks made by:” and the name of the maker of all 16 blocks will be listed.  There is a space for the wounded soldiers name as well.  Forever and always, each wounded soldier will know the name, city and state of every American who stepped up for them to say “thanks, we appreciate you.”  

Quilt Guilds who want to send multiple blocks and only identify the guild may do so but must attach a paper to each block and specify city and state.

Anyone who chooses to remain anonymous may do so by using only the beginning of an email address such as “blockmaker” and identifying city and state.  They will be listed on the label on the back of the quilt as “blockmaker” city, state.
